FAQ – Boys

Q – Are players grouped by age or experience?

Druid Lakes welcomes players of all abilities, whether they’ve been playing for years or have never played before and want to try something new! We offer a range from kindergarten through 8th grade. While you may see some leagues or teams grouping by age, we group by grade. Our teams are grouped as follows:

  • Kindergarten through 3rd grade
  • 4th through 5th grade
  • 6th through 8th grade

Note: Skilled 3rd graders may be promoted to play in 4th and 5th grade games and skilled 5th graders may be promoted to play in 6th through 8th grade games.

Note: the 4th-5th and 6th-8th grade teams practice together

Q- What is my time commitment?

Players practice for an hour and a half on Saturday mornings, as well as an additional practice lasting an hour and a half on a weekday evening.

Games are scheduled as they become available and generally last 1 hour with additional time for warm up and travel required.

If enrolled in league play, games will be scheduled by the league and may include Saturdays and Sunday afternoons. Games may periodically be scheduled on weeknights.

Q- What are the expenses involved?

All players must purchase membership with USA Lacrosse which is $35 annually. Enrollment for the season is $150 and covers coaching, a jersey, league registration fees, game expenses, and use of the facilities.

There may be optional opportunities to purchase additional merchandise/accessories

Q- Is equipment provided?

A limited number of sets of equipment are available on a first come, first served basis. This includes helmet, shoulder and arm pads, stick, and gloves. A refundable deposit of $250 is due at the beginning of the season. The check will be voided and destroyed at the end of the season once the equipment is returned in good condition. Players will need to provide their own mouthguard and cleats.

Q- Do I have to stay with my player, or can I drop them off?

K-3 parents must stay with their child. Parents of older players may be dropped off and picked up, but please pick them up on time.

Q- How long are the seasons?

Seasons vary based on how many games can be scheduled but they generally are as follows:

  • Fall Season: Early August to End of October
  • Spring Season: End of February to End of April/Early May

Q- How can I stay in touch with coaches and league?

Team communications are via Team Snap, which includes text, chat and email communications; team roster information; and team practice and game schedule. Each team member will be invited to join Team Snap and must accept this invitation to enable communication.
